By the time she began high school in St. Louis, Missouri, Julia Durango had lived in Rhode Island, California, and three states in between. The travel bug remained with her during her college years, when she traveled throughout Latin America while completing undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois.
Julia now lives with her family in a small town by the Illinois River.
