Maddie Buell is a lifelong lover of books, but it wasn’t until she began teaching that she truly understood their power. After earning her degree in Education from Brigham Young University, she watched her students connect deeply with stories that reflected their own lives and began imagining what it would be like to write one of those stories herself. She has worked with children and teens over the years as a dance teacher, summer camp counselor, and classroom teacher, and eventually transitioned her career into EdTech.

Maddie lives in Texas with her family and her dog, though she has also called Utah, New York, and New Jersey home. When she’s not writing, she enjoys crafting thematic playlists, spending time outdoors with her family, watching sports, and taste-testing every flavor of Blue Bell ice cream she can get her hands on.
