Ed Briant
Biography
Ed Briant was born in the City of Brighton, on the south coast of England.
He had always been a bad sleeper so he decided to move to New York City, that way he could be awake all night in the "City that Never Sleeps."
Ed's illustrations have appeared in most of the best-known newspapers and magazines in the United States and Europe, including GQ, Newsweek, The New York Times, The Atlantic Monthly, The New Yorker, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, and Sports Illustrated.
His first picture book, Paper Parade, published by Atheneum, was awarded a Flying Start by Publishers Weekly. His first book as both author and illustrator was Seven Stories, and was followed by A Day at the Beach, Gizmo, Don't Look Now, and If You Lived Here You'd Be Home by Now. Ed's first novel, Choppy Socky Blues will be published in April 2010 by Flux.
Ed lives in Savannah, Georgia, and teaches at Savannah College of Art and Design.
